21 Nov 2006: Kinfra invites bids to develop infrastructure
The Kinfra Export Promotion Industrial Park, a fully owned subsidiary of the Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation, has invited expression of interest (EoI) from companies to develop 75 acres of its land at Kakkanad for eco-friendly, non-polluting, export-oriented industries (EoUs).
Kinfra managing director A.S. Suresh Babu said here recently that the land would be allotted to the company on lease.
Applicants have been asked to submit business plans with a detailed master plan and land utilisation plan for approval.
Kinfra has insisted that the proposed project should generate at least 10,000 jobs within the first five years of signing the lease agreement. Joint ventures or consortiums floated for the purpose of bidding would not be considered.
The applicant should be a large industrial entity with a proven track record in developing infrastructure or commercial projects, says the invitation for EoIs.
Kinfra will initially shortlist the companies based on their eligibility. The eligible companies will be asked to submit master plans and price bids. The company quoting the highest amount above the floor price will be chosen to develop the land subject to approval from the Kinfra Board.
